The role of centrifuge spare parts and accessories

Rotor: The core moving part of the centrifuge, used to hold the sample container in place. Based on capacity and speed, they are categorized as angle rotors (suitable for high-speed centrifugation, up to 30,000 rpm) and horizontal rotors (suitable for large-volume separations, typically below 10,000 rpm).

Centrifuge Tubes: Containers that directly hold the samples. Common materials include PP (polypropylene, chemically resistant), PC (polycarbonate, transparent), and glass (high-temperature resistant but fragile).

Adapters: Used to hold centrifuge tubes of different sizes. Adapter compatibility directly affects centrifugation efficiency.

O-rings: Prevent liquid leakage or aerosol contamination during centrifugation. Regular inspection for aging is necessary; replacement every 6 months is generally recommended.
